Light of the World

“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life” (2 Corinthians 2:14-16)

I often wonder how I can make the gospel more attractive to the people that I know. There it is right there — being filled with the knowledge and love of my Saviour, letting the perfume of Who He is and what He’s done, make me a walking fragrance,as sweet-smelling nectar is to searching bees.

Smelling good means letting go of the self-centered odors I carry. The sacrifice of Yeshua was an aroma is a sacrifice pleasing to God and when I offer my entire life to Him, I am joining in His sacrifice. I share the fragrance. When the beauty of who He is permeates and changes me, it begins to move its way outward, shining from the inside out and attracting others to the gospel.

It’s an aroma I want to carry. To ”walk in love, as He loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” (Ephesiasn 5:2). To bear the depth of His love. To be a walking reminder of who I am in Him. To live with a desire to make God smell good. I want to be so preoccupied and filled with Him, that though the stains of human frailty still exist they can’t be noticed because of the overwhelming fragrance of redemption.

Yeshua is the Light of the World. He the only Way, the Truth and the Life. He is our Refuge and Anchor in the storm. He came so we may find life eternal. He died a horrible death as a sinless man on the cross. His blood was shed for our transgressions. Yeshua layed down His life for our sins. Begin to read the Bible because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. If you feel like you don't know where to start, you may want to read Isiah 53 or the Gospel in the New Testament starting with Matthew. It speaks about His work of deliverance. Yeshua forgives us if we repent of our sins and accept His perfect sacrifice. His Light shines in the darkest night. He loves you more than anyone else does. You may even pray to Him to help you in your unbelief and don't see His plan yet:

Mar 9:24 Straightway the father of the child cried out, and said, I believe; help thou mine unbelief! 

Promise assured, He will take care of you and lead you if you put your trust and faith in Him alone. Invite Yeshua into your heart and you will know what love is! Though your sins were scarlet red they will be washed white as snow. Yeshua said: 

“Cast all your burdens on me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.  

He is with you when everyone else has left you. By His stripes we find healing. Seek first the Kingdom of God and you will find it. The rainbow in the sky is one of His signs. Believe in His love and promises and you may live by grace through faith! The promises of God Most High are true and new every morning! Everyone who seeks, repents and believes, may receive the truth of the Living Word of God. 

Jer 31:10  "Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands far away; say, 'He who scattered Israel will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.' 

Jew and gentile are returning to His promises because His mercy and love endures forever! The Bible speaks of a standard of righteousness we have failed to achieve. Judgement is coming where we are hold accountable but there is hope for the hopeless and rest for the weary.

The Word of God is living and active. It reveals every wicked scheme on this planet earth. It is sharper than any two-edged sword. It judges the thoughts and the attitudes of the heart.  Our Father in Heaven knows about every lying man and all the kingdoms of this earth. He knows about all the schemes and theologies which peolple bring up. They are building their kingdoms on sinking sand but those who trust in Yeshua will stand on a Solid Rock. The Torah is given to us to convict us of sin. The prophets of the coming judgement and the writings speak about righteousness. Return to God!

Yeshua came to wash our sins clean. He will rule and reign from Jerusalem for eternity! The Torah will go out from Mount Zion. In the latter days before His return, all flesh will see the hands of the man they have pierced. We all nailed Him to the cross with our sins. Great is His mercy and love for those who come before Him with a contrite spirit and repent of their sins! He will give you a new spirit and a heart of flesh instead of a heart of stone! Read Jeremiah 31 for example. Our Abba Father is great in Mercy and patient toward you. We are still living in that time in which He is calling people back to His truth. His judgment is coming! The signs of His return are all around us. It is as it was in the days of Noah but the Lord is patient toward us:

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

When all is set and done, God will set up a Kingdom that shall never be destroyed as is described in Daniel. He is slow to anger, not wanting that anyone should perish but come to repentance (2 Petrus 3) through His Son Yeshua who is the Light that shines in the darkness. Yeshua is of God but He became fully man. He is the living Thora that came to the world to set us free from death and sin:

Joh 1:9  That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Joh 1:10  He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Joh 1:11  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Yahweh, even to them that believe on his name.
